Getting to know you

Contact Point had their introductory meeting yesterday.

After meeting some potential members at the Open Meeting and having a few more get in touch over the last week, we had our introductory meeting on Sunday night, once the doors closed for the final time on the Sacred Flame exhibition. The meeting was informal – we had a chat with our recruits about what we were planning for the festival itself as well as the run-up, what kind of activities we’d be doing and what level of involvement would suit everyone. We all introduced ourselves and talked about our history with BFS as well as what we’d like to get out of this year’s Beltane celebration.

We’re now fully recruited, so not looking for any more volunteers. Our first ‘proper’ meeting is this Saturday and we’ll post regularly to keep you updated about what we’ve been up to. There will be photos soon too :-)

About Beltane Fire Society

The Beltane Fire Society is a community organisation that puts on the Beltane Fire Festival on Calton Hill and the Samhuinn Fire Festival on the Royal Mile, in Edinburgh, Scotland. The society was formed in 1988 for the second Beltane Fire Festival (the first on Calton Hill). The BFS also organises events for the other Celtic cross-quarter days, i.e., Imbolc and Lughnasad, and for Solstices and Equinoxes.
